Overview
PureGlow partnered with me to drive online purchases from shoppers actively searching for skincare products across the United States. The brand sells curated cleansers, serums, and wellness essentials, competing in a high-intent market where ad relevance and landing page experience directly determine whether a click becomes a sale. The goal was to build a Google Ads system that didn't just bring traffic, it brought buyers.
Keyword Strategy & Campaign Structure
I built the campaign architecture around a single principle: every ad group should own one intent, not share it. In-depth keyword research was conducted to isolate high-commercial-intent queries searches like "best acne scar removal gel," "buy eye bag removal wrinkle lifting," and "gentle cleanser for sensitive skin", while systematically excluding broad, informational, and research-phase terms that drain budget without converting. Campaigns were organized into tightly themed ad groups, each mapped to a specific product category and intent tier, allowing precise bid management and granular performance tracking at the search query level.
Ad Copy & Optimization
I crafted multiple ad copy variations for each ad group, with headlines and descriptions written to mirror the exact language and intent of the search query. No generic messaging, no cross-category dilution. Variations were A/B tested continuously, with underperforming ads paused and budgets consolidated behind the highest-converting copy. This kept Quality Scores climbing and Ad Rank strong without forcing bid increases.
Landing Page Optimization & CRO
The majority of performance gains came from outside the Google Ads dashboard. Each ad group was matched to a landing page where the headline, hero copy, and CTA directly reflected the search query and ad message, eliminating message mismatch entirely. CRO improvements were applied across all key pages: distracting navigation was minimized, conversion paths were shortened, social proof was placed above the fold, and checkout friction was reduced before any budget was scaled.
Results
The results were strong and highly efficient: the campaign generated 3.81K total conversions from 8.9K clicks, with a total ad spend of $14.8K and a cost per conversion of just $3.89. By combining intent-first campaign architecture, CRO-driven landing pages, and a sustained focus on ad relevancy and Quality Score, PureGlow established a scalable and profitable paid search engine, with every layer of the funnel engineered to convert before a dollar of spend was increased.
